“He Who Sings, Prays Twice!”

St. Augustine

The United Methodist Church of Bay Shore - Music Ministry

Daniel Cafiero

Director of Music

Music is central to the life of worship and mission at Bay Shore UMC.

A song can often touch people in a way that a sermon cannot. From our Youth Choir, to our Penataquit Hand Bell Choir, to our Chamber Choir, there are many opportunities to “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!” Joining one of our groups provides multiple opportunities to members of all ages and abilities to praise God through the gift of music while adding a uniquely inspiring dimension to our worship services.

Bay Shore United Methodist Church music ministry extends a warm invitation to members of all ages to join one of the several choirs that are available at our church. Serving as a vocalist and/or instrumentalist is an important way to support the assembly’s sung prayer and praise to God. It also provides added benefits such as learning new skills, enjoying new friendships and making a valuable contribution to our church community. See our website and “Spire” newsletter for rehearsal times. All are welcome!

Chamber Choir

The Chamber Choir is the adult choir of the Bay Shore United Methodist Church. The Chamber Choir provides music each week for the 10:00am worship service and performs for our special Christmas Services, Lenten Services, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter services. New members are most cordially invited!

The Chamber Choir goals are to:

  1. Provide music for Christ-centered worship that stimulates the hearts and minds of singers and congregation.

  2. Provide service opportunities for singers to give of their talents to the church community.

  3. Include a variety of choral styles of quality choral literature which accommodate the talents and limitations of the choir membership.

  4. Feature anthems and responses that address sermon themes and liturgical seasons.

  5. Provide special services, and fund raising concerts annually.

The Chamber Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the Choir Room, and Sunday mornings, prior to worship service at 9:00am in the sanctuary.
